Enough Work
What is the work making room for?
Good work can be a meaningful part of a full life. It helps to know what you want your effort to build.
Being good at something doesn’t obligate you to keep doing it.
There is satisfaction in doing something well. There is also value in pausing long enough to ask what you want that effort to make possible. A promotion, a business, a craft, and a reliable income can each serve a different purpose.
Think about the moments when work feels worthwhile. Are you creating, helping, learning, leading, connecting, or solving? What do those moments tell you about the kind of work you want more of?
A useful definition of enough includes contribution and capacity. What is yours to do? What does good work look like today? What helps you return tomorrow with something left?
You do not have to answer your whole career in one sitting. Choose one adjustment you can test: a clearer stopping point, a more honest conversation, or a little more room for the work you value.
A question to keep.
What would make this week’s work feel both worthwhile and sustainable?
One small experiment.
Name one contribution that matters this week and one boundary that will help you make it well.
